We thought we took care of the environment before, but after having participated in the climate pilot project in Kalmar we feel like experts in the necessary issue of saving our planet. It took us from talking to doing, after inspiration and a positive kick in the right direction.

Tess just started working at a waste management company, and as environmental engineer the job suits her perfectly. Adam is working as a physical education teacher and is dealing with kids between six and thirteen years all day long. Every now and then he also works in healthcare, as a carpenter or as a massage therapist.

Climate factors
Adam: spends no money on everyday things, has no car, hate consumption, is against watching TV. Achilles heal: loves whisky and likes to travel, owns a two stroke engine that is on his boat.

Tess: Tries to live as she teaches, combining theory from her studies with real actions, not just talking and thinking only (even though it’s hard!). Loves to cook good healthy and environmentally friendly food, loves buying and reading (second-hand) books, great at mending broken clothes, always goes around on her bike. Achilles heal: Loves to travel, good chocolate and every now and then go shopping.

Spare time
We spend much time with our friends. We go riding our unicycles once in a while (that is how we met each other in the first place). Both of us play a lot of volleyball both indoor and on the beach. Having time off,  we’re seldom sitting still, unless we are having a “fika”*. Hobby outdoor life with canoeing, pic-nics and excursions or making home-made fruit wines are favourite activities.

We’re looking forward to trying to help YOU become a Climate Pilot!

* “Fika” is a typical Swedish expression which means having a coffee/the together with a sandwich or cookie/pastry.
